How it works

1. Free Introductory Call

A short, relaxed and informal conversation to talk about what you are looking for support with and how I may be able to help. There is no pressure, it is simply a chance to connect, ask questions, and see whether I am the right person to support you or your child.

 2. First Session

Before the first session, you will be invited to complete a brief intake questionnaire. This includes questions about general health and wellbeing, current concerns, and what you or your child would like support with. It is completed online using a secure, confidential platform and allows me to prepare thoughtfully for our first meeting.

In the first session, we spend time understanding in more detail what has been difficult and what you or your child would like help with. We explore current challenges, begin to make sense of patterns or reactions that may be contributing to these, and talk through goals for therapy. Where helpful, I may introduce relevant ideas or gentle strategies to support understanding and emotional regulation. Everything is explained clearly and at a pace that feels comfortable, so you feel informed, supported and at ease.

3. Ongoing Therapy Sessions

Sessions may include cognitive behavioural therapy, hypnotherapy, and mindfulness, tailored to your needs and age group. We build skills gradually, practise coping strategies, and work steadily towards your goals.

4. Check-ins & Progress

We regularly reflect on what is helping and adapt sessions as needed. Where appropriate, parents receive guidance so progress can continue between sessions.

5. Support Between Sessions

I offer simple tools or strategies to use in daily life, nothing overwhelming, just helpful, practical ideas that support progress between sessions.

Session Information & Practical Details

Session Location

Sessions are shaped around the age, needs and pace of each client and are offered online or in person in Harpenden. I aim to provide a calm, supportive space where children, young people and adults feel comfortable engaging in therapy.

Face-to-face sessions are often helpful for younger children, while older teenagers and adults may prefer the flexibility of online sessions.

Session Duration & Fees

Children (45 minutes) - £70

Teenagers (50 minutes) - £75

Adults / Parents (55 minutes) - £80

Payment

To keep things simple, sessions are paid for in advance. Once your appointment is booked, you’ll receive a payment link to confirm your session. Payment is by bank transfer.

Cancellations & Missed Sessions

I understand that unexpected things can come up. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance where possible.

Where less than 24 hours’ notice is given, or a session is missed, the full session fee is charged. This is because the time has been reserved especially for you and cannot usually be offered to another client at short notice.

Confidentiality

For younger children, therapy is often a shared process, with parents involved in sessions. As children and young people get older, sessions may become more private to support their increasing independence and openness. Parents will always be informed if there are any concerns relating to safety or wellbeing.

Everything shared in sessions is treated with care and respect and remains confidential. The only exceptions are situations where there are safeguarding concerns or where I am legally required to share information to protect the client or others.

Professional Support & Supervision

As part of safe and ethical practice, I attend regular clinical supervision. This provides a confidential space to reflect on my work, ensure high standards of care and support best practice. No identifying details are shared, and confidentiality is always maintained.

Privacy

Personal information is handled with care and confidentiality and is only used to support therapy and safe practice. Information is stored securely using a trusted third-party system designed for therapy records and is not shared without consent, unless there are safeguarding concerns or a legal requirement to do so.
