“We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to.”
- Brene’ Brown
Hi, I am Dani.
I am a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist working with children, teenagers and adults who are experiencing anxiety, stress, low confidence, emotional difficulties or challenges such as habits, fears or phobias.
I offer therapy that is calm, supportive and practical. My aim is to help you (or your child) make sense of thoughts and feelings, and to find ways of coping that feel realistic and helpful in everyday life.
I work gently to support emotional wellbeing, helping people feel calmer, more settled and more confident over time.
Whether you are seeking support for yourself or for your child, I aim to provide a calm, non-judgemental space where you feel listened to and supported, at a pace that feels right for you.
How Therapy Can Help
In therapy, we explore what may be contributing to the difficulties you or your child are experiencing, and look for ways of coping that feel realistic and helpful in everyday life.
This often involves making sense of thoughts and feelings, noticing patterns that may be adding to stress or worry, and exploring how these influence reactions and behaviour. We may also look at the beliefs or assumptions we hold about ourselves or situations, and consider whether they are true and helpful.
Sessions may involve:
Understanding thoughts, feelings and emotional responses
Noticing patterns that increase anxiety or stress
Learning practical tools to manage difficult emotions
Building confidence and emotional resilience
Developing coping strategies that can be used in everyday life
“We are the stories we tell ourselves”
- Joan Didion
How the Sessions Work
I work using a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Hypnotherapy, adapting sessions to suit each individual.
Sessions are practical and structured, combining talking with a range of supportive approaches to help build understanding, emotional regulation and confidence. This flexible approach means sessions can be shaped around different ages, needs and preferences.
I offer sessions both online and in person in Harpenden, and we can talk together about what feels most helpful. Face-to-face sessions are often useful for younger children, while online sessions can offer flexibility for older teenagers and adults.
